Vanessa started her career in health as a paramedic, working for a national Emergency Medical Service provider in South Africa. She knew she wanted to do more to prevent disease after witnessing countless patients suffering from debilitating and chronic health conditions. After 10 years in the service, she started studying part time through distance learning offered by Middlesex University in London. Two years later she earned her MSc in Nutritional Sciences and then completed two years of practical training in a virtual clinic setting, earning a Personalized Nutrition Practice Diploma.
Having immigrated from South Africa and landing in Canada in November 2018, Vanessa was thrilled to have experienced her first Canadian winter; she’s obsessed with snow and is convinced she was born on the wrong continent! A passionate snowboarder, runner, and mountain biker who also loves the high intensity of a daily CrossFit workout, Vanessa knows all too well how important nutrition and fitness are for overall health. Having been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition herself in 2017, she has managed to refrain from pharmaceutical treatment, and instead, manages her condition with targeted nutritional therapy and regular exercise.
As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Vanessa is passionate about clinical nutrition and has experience in the management of a variety of health conditions as well as health optimization through targeted therapeutic interventions that are tailored to suit any individual’s lifestyle, goals and needs.
